About

Treasa Lynch doesn’t like talking about herself in the third person.

Treasa Lynch has worked in information technology for more than 10 years. She has a degree in applied languages from Dublin City University, along with postgraduate diplomas in conference interpreting and information technology, from the University of Westminster and Dublin City University respectively. She has recently started a degree in mathematics and statistics with the Open University.

Prior to working in information technology, she worked in administration in both the private and public sectors. She has also spent some time working as a language teacher. She has lived in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and, for a very brief period, Finland. She speaks fluent French and has forgotten fluent German in addition to English.

Outside, her interests are of the too many plates spinning variety. She takes photographs and her photoblog is here. Her work has featured in national newspapers and travel magazines and in 2011 she was profiled by RTE for one of their magazine programmes. In addition to photography, she gets stuck into a lot of handcrafts with preferences for tapestry and crochet. She is not averse to a bit of knitting.

She does some sports very badly but with much enthusiasm, such as surfing and climbing. She is a particularly poor kitesurfer. In addition to these she swims when she has time. She does not like the gym.

She has an extensive collection of cookbooks some of which she does actually use. The fastest way to her heart, barring other impediments, is to buy her a dishwasher.

She reads. She draws, sometimes, and she has watercolor paints but is rather bad at painting compared to taking photographs.

By contrast, she doesn’t watch a whole lot of television despite having about 100 cable channels as part of her television/broadband/phone package.

Amongst her more oddball interests are accoutrements linked to her liking of loose leaf tea. She blogs about some of these things here. The more serious stuff she keeps for here.
